"I am a process-oriented artist deeply interested in construction, texture, material reuse, and the application of paint to unconventional substrates. This piece began with tassel clippings from an old rug, which I adhered to paper to create a textured foundation. I then intertwined leftover strips of plastic and thread throughout the surface, securing them to the substrate before applying layers of paint. The resulting work explores the intersections of line and space, while allowing the paint to respond to and reveal the physical qualities of the constructed surface.
