  The 1001st Night

  "I read The Magical Book of “One Thousand and One Nights” many times in my childhood, and I still have its fragile copy. It was one of my favorite books for a long time, and it still holds a special place in my heart. Although the book had no illustrations, I could vividly imagine every character and scene. Later, I watched the Disney movies based on these tales, and then, with the magic of the internet, I began exploring paintings by the German Orientalist painter Paul Emile Jacobs. His painting, “The Pasha's Favorite”, inspired my vision of the sheikh's character, whose face bears a resemblance to my father's, while Scheherazade appears as my mother's when she was young. Thus, the book “One Thousand and One Nights”, the Disney movies, and the paintings of Paul Emile Jacobs all served as sources of inspiration for the illustration of my own story, “The 1001st Night”."
