Dick Tilman Retrospective
In-Gallery & Online: November 6 - December 23
Born in Indiana, Dick Tilman made Florida his home and became known in St. Augustine for his award-winning photography, kindness, and understated wit. He began his career in banking before moving into technology, helping banks transition to new computer systems. His work took him across the United States, nurturing a love of travel that continued through his photography after retirement.Remembered as the “Bob Newhart of St. Augustine,” Dick had a quiet manner and an unexpected sense of humor that could fill a room with laughter. That distinctive wit also appeared in the titles of his photographs. He died at age 82 following a series of strokes, leaving memories of laughter, friendship, and a creative spirit expressed through his photography.
You can experience Dick Tilman’s work in-person by visiting the gallery: Tuesdays through Sundays, 12:00 – 4:00 PM. Free admission.
