    Oil by Valarie Pothier-Forrester (23in. x 19in.)
"This iconic architectural wonder has always been such an important part of the city's story, and has been portrayed over many the years by many an artist. I ,myself, have painted it from several different angles, and this particular composition has been in my mind for a very long while, and attempted years ago with unsatisfactory results. But due to the fact that the seawall is about to be altered, the result of which is as yet unknown. I decided to catch it while I could, before this particular perspective might be made unavailable, So it was time to try again. thus...The Approach."

  • Accidental Elephant

    Accidental Elephant

Mixed Media by Kathleen Thompson (15in. x 18in.)
"The Accidental Elephant emerged through an experimental mixed media process. It was not my intention to create an elephant: the image revealed itself as I studied the unpredictable marks, textures, and movement within the piece. My role became one of recognition and restraint, choosing what to preserve without making the image too literal. I created the custom, hand finished frame as an extension of the artwork, allowing its weathered surface to echo the image within. Together, they reflect my interest in embracing unpredictability while allowing room for viewers to make their own discoveries."
