    We the People

Acrylic & Mixed Media by Deborah Lightfield (21in. x 25in.)
"We the People" are the opening words of the United States Constitution's Preamble written in 1787. "We the People" affirms that the government is of the people, by the people and for the people. This artwork is of three people of different ages and different skin colors who are embraced within the American Flag in a symbolic gesture. America's history is woven into a rich tapestry of many colors which have created a beautiful and unique democracy of which we should all feel proud.

  • Left on His Desk

    Left on His Desk

Varnished Watercolor by Rebecca Mentz ( 11in. x 14in. ) ***Not for Sale***
"This is a still life painting of some of the things that were found on my husband's desk after his death last year. When reflecting on our 250th anniversary of our country I am still moved by the words of the Declaration of Independence and the bravery, wisdom, sacrifice and divine inspiration needed by these men to draft such a document. As were many of the Founding Fathers, my husband was grounded in his faith and served others in many ways. He was also a student of history and never forgot to be thankful for the rich heritage of our country. His life was an example to many and I am thankful for the legacy he has left his family. We enjoyed the celebration for our countries 200th anniversary together and now 50 years later I remain most grateful for the many freedoms we still enjoy."

  • The Parade

    The Parade

Oil by Luther Steven Walker (14in. x 14in.)
"This painting functions as a Sharpe, political and social commentary, pointing directly to the massive influence, wealth, and systemic power wielded by Donald Trump and Elon Musk. The crowd can be interpreted as the collective psyche of a mass movement – people swept up, ungrounded, and operating under a shared chaotic impulse. The yellow path is reminiscence of a yellow brick road leading to an illusion of power. Ultimately the peace treats the declaration not as a dead piece of parchment, but as a living fracturing reality. The challenges, the viewer to look past the idea of the 1776 act and confront the dizzy mechanisms of power shaping our presence society."
