"There is something fascinating to me about objects found on the ground, especially those that wash up on the beach. I can be found picking up most anything that washes up on the beaches around Saint Augustine! I love the fact that when things have been in the ocean for any length of time, they are covered in some evidence of sea life! The "goggle" on this painting (See Horse) was one half of a pair of goggles I found on the beach. I knew immediately that it would be part of a painting featuring some sort of sea creature; "See Horse" was the result!
