    In The Light Of The Moon

    "This piece is Illuminated and uses a 40 W LED light. I often go out for full moon viewing and sit on the beach while it’s coming up. The figure is core wool and short fiber merino over a metal armature. It is needle felted and posable. The globe was formed over a ball and hardened after the ball is removed to keep it’s shape. It is wet felted using the Nuno technique with merino wool, silk gauze and silk and bamboo roving. It sits on a burl base and is lite from the inside. It is easy to clean with a soft cloth or feather duster."

    Sand and Sea

    Felt by Liz Canali (24in. x 36in.)
    "I have been inspired by the textures of the ocean and the surrounding beach. I've tried to capture the movement of the ocean. I've used shades of white, blue and tans in various wools, silks and bamboo fibers to create the textures and to stimulate the imagination. This piece is mounted on canvas. Wool is insulating, moisture absorbing and hard wearing. On top of all this, nature has been so brilliant that it has greased each fiber of the wool with lanolin as it grows out of the follicle. The lanolin protects the fiber against water, dirt and odors."
