  Perspectives from below and afar

Oil on Canvas by Gary Coatoam (26in. x 38in.)

"Enjoy the loving perspective of the Cottonwood Shanty in Millersburg, which is in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country. Gazing up, the towering dark muted lines of the shops give their way from darkness into the brighter light, which is cast from huge shining wall sconces and a pole mounted lantern light. Following those bright lights, the visual perceptive of tall shops of Millersburg shifts as the avenue follows a downhill and curving course. These changes of light and perceptive made for a thought-provoking challenge in the painting, But don't miss the stray dog, who is suspiciously examining the street-side fire hydrant."
