“Contemplative is my attempt to show one aspect of the Great Blue Heron’s duality—an elegant predator that moves with grace yet strikes like a snake. I rendered the background loosely and a bit more graphically, allowing the heron to emerge as the focal point with a bit more precise, sculptural form. The contrast between the two creates a visual hierarchy that mirrors the bird’s nature: beautiful on the surface, deadly in purpose.“
