“Inspired by a lifelong fascination with flight and viewing the topographic tapestries below from an aerial perspective, my Aeropittura series of sculpture translates these patterns into sophisticated, abstract compositions of shapes, patterns, organic colors, and texture.
Aeropittura utilizes a rich palette of contrasting woods… dark ebony, warm mahogany, rosewood, and bird’s-eye maple—to create a topographic relief as viewed from above. The intersecting lines and shapes are enhanced with precise inlay and overlay details of copper and brass, to suggest shadows, architecture, and the presence of mankind’s imprint on the surface of our planet.”
