This beginner-friendly workshop with artist and instructor Gail Beveridge introduces students to the fundamentals of painting with no prior artistic experience required. Students will learn about basic materials, shape, value, and color through demonstrations and guided exercises. Beginning with a simple one-color value study, students will practice identifying shapes and areas of light and dark before working with a limited color palette to create a painting. Gail will guide students through each step, providing a practical introduction to the basic skills and concepts needed to approach painting with confidence.

Explore the creative possibilities of digital photography and editing in this hands-on introductory workshop. The first 30 minutes will cover basic camera and photography concepts, including how to approach taking a well-composed image. The remaining two hours will focus on the fundamentals of Adobe Photoshop, introducing students to essential tools and techniques for editing and enhancing their photographs.
No prior photography or Photoshop experience is required.
Students will need to have access to a version of Adobe Photoshop, either through an existing subscription or a free trial, before attending the workshop.
Students must bring their own digital camera. Phone cameras may not be used due to the nature of this workshop. Please come prepared with a way to transfer images from your camera to your computer!

Dive into the wonderful world of linocut!
Join local linocut artist Ted Judy for an engaging, hands-on workshop exploring this intricate and rewarding printmaking medium. Ted will introduce you to the essential tools and materials, including linoleum blocks, carving tools, brayers, and inks.
You’ll then learn the linocut process step by step—from carving your design safely and effectively to layering inks and creating a beautiful final print on paper. Whether you’re new to linocut or looking to refine your skills, this workshop offers a welcoming introduction to the art of relief printmaking.
You’ll leave with two hand-carved linoleum blocks, your own prints, and the knowledge and confidence to begin your linocut practice!
