Patterns, Symbols, & Dreams

Explore the creative possibilities of patterns, repetition, and symbols as powerful tools for visual storytelling!

Students will draw inspiration from artistic traditions around the world, with a special focus on ancient bark painting techniques developed by Indigenous artists in Australia. Through guided lessons and hands-on projects, campers will learn how animals and meaningful symbols can represent ideas, traits, and stories, and how repetition can create rhythm and unity within a composition. By the end of the camp, students will create their own story-driven artworks that reflect both cultural inspiration and their personal creativity.

This camp is recommended for grades 6 – 9.
