“Through this artwork, I aimed to capture the essence of the lion’s regal presence and the profound impact it has on the viewer. This technique of subtractive drawing requires patience and precision as I meticulously remove layers of color to reveal the underlying white of the paper. Each eraser stroke is deliberate, shaping the lion’s visage with a delicate balance of bold lines and soft gradients. By using this method, I not only challenged traditional approaches to drawing but also invite the viewer to explore the depths of the lion’s expression, finding new layers of meaning with each glance.”
