"There is a bird in this still life. Can you see it?
I’ve painted this vibrant still life, looking at the freshly picked hydrangeas and sunflowers that were growing in our garden.
I intentionally placed the goldfinch next to a semi-circle of a young hydrangea cluster to trick your eye so the bird would look like a flower at first glance. Goldfinches are attracted to yellow-blossoming sunflowers and disguise themselves like them.
Plants and animals always been my passion. I can spend hours meditating on the colors and the shape variations of each species.
They bring a sense of amazement and entertainment for me.
This painting is an invitation to bring your mind to stillness, to pause, and to find a simple pleasure in the moment, as I attained while painting it."
