Watercolor and Gouache by Rebecca Mentz
(25.5in. x 30.5in.)
"Ospreys, also known as Fish Hawks, are prevalently seen in NE Florida. It is even the named Mascot of the University of North Florida.
I have seen them most often while boating. This painting was taken from a photo I took while near Black Creek. The birds had made a nest on top of a No Wake Zone sign, which is
also a very common site on our waterways.
We steered the boat so I could get a good shot and the glare the birds gave me showed their alarm at being so close to the nest.
I thought it so great I had to capture it also in paint"
