"Most of what I create is from imagination, often abstract or surreal, and unusual in subject matter. Every once in a while I find a reference that I want to recreate in a representational style. This painting is from several original photo references in addition to in-person visits. It is not an exact copy, it's a composition based on those references with added details to enhance the overall appearance. My primary goal was to capture the atmosphere. The location is within Anastasia State Park, one of the best places in the area.
