"Creature comes from the sea what type of creature he is we don’t know as we are finding many new species. It’s up to the viewer to decide what he is. Creature is a five foot tall Hydrostone (a gypsum product) sculpture that explores perception, light, and transformation. At first glance, the surface appears uniformly black and monolithic. As sunlight strikes the form, subtle shifts of green and purple emerge, causing the sculpture to visually change throughout the day. This interaction with light invites slower viewing and close attention, revealing layers that are not immediately visible. I was interested in how something that initially feels dark, solid, and fixed can quietly reveal complexity and movement. Although the form is abstract, the title Creature suggests a sense of presence and responsiveness, as if the sculpture reacts to its environment rather than remaining static. Working with Hydrostone allowed me to balance fragility with scale and physical authority, reinforcing the tension between still less and transformation."Artwork purchased online can be picked up AFTER the exhibit ends, on or after April 1, 2026 -- or shipped to the buyer (ALL SHIPPING COSTS TO BE PAID BY THE BUYER).
