    Year of the Horse

Acrylic and Ocean Wash on Canvas by Deborah Lightfield
    (28in. by 28in.)
"“Year of the Horse” began as an expression of my passion for horses. However, what put an exclamation point on the vitality within the painting is to learn that 2026 is Year of the Fire Horse! As an artist, I decided to push the elements of color and line to create an energy that described the power of the horse from within and the experienced felt when riding these magnificent animals. This truly one-with-nature in all of its beauty and glory. Following are some interesting bits of information about the Fire Horse: Fire Horse Traits, according to Japanese traditional beliefs, are said to embody independence, charisma, strong leadership, high energy and assertiveness. According to Chinese beliefs, Year of the Fire Horse is when all twelve zodiac animals with the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water are combined to form a 60-year cycle. Fire Horses are associated with heightened energy. This is a year that is described as a period of strong momentum, bold action, transformative change, heightened intensity and relentless pursuit of freedom."

  • Beyond the Vail

    Beyond the Vail

    Acrylics by Denise Vezza Maggiore
    (24in. by 36in.)
"In “Beyond the Veil” the clouds of incense moves and changes around the welcoming figure stretching forth his hand. He is either brightly lit or silhouetted in darkness, as metallic highlights appear and disappear with changes in the light. Even the details in the face and hands change from intense color to a gleaming, burnished bronze. "This certain hope of being saved is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls, connecting us with God himself behind the sacred curtains of heaven, where Christ has gone ahead to plead for us from his position as our High Priest, with the honor and rank of Melchizedek." - Hebrews 6:19-20 "Now, when sins have once been forever forgiven and forgotten, there is no need to offer more sacrifices to get rid of them. And so, dear brothers, now we may walk right into the very Holy of Holies, where God is, because of the blood of Jesus. This is the fresh, new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us by tearing the curtain—his human body—to let us into the holy presence of God. And since this great High Priest of ours rules over God’s household, let us go right in to God himself, with true hearts fully trusting him to receive us because we have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean and because our bodies have been washed with pure water." - Hebrews 10:18-22"

  • Arizona Dreaming

    Arizona Dreaming

Acrylics by Karrie Andrews (24in. by 48in.)
"This painting began as a clear inner image that arrived before any plan or sketch. I kept seeing a woman as an oversized silhouette, set against red rock and a sky that felt more like a moment than a place. It stayed with me until I followed it onto the canvas. The landscape references the Palatki Heritage Site and surrounding Sedona, AZ terrain, but it is not intended as a literal or realistic depiction. Instead, the environment becomes a symbolic and energetic space. Many elements within the painting emerged unintentionally and nothing in this painting was forced. The rock formations began to resemble the profile of a tiger. Subtle faces and eyes appeared within the rocks as I painted, revealing themselves organically rather than by design. These hidden forms represent ancestors, spirit guides, and unseen companions—those who walk alongside us across lifetimes and timelines. The foreground prickly pear cactus and surrounding rocks are filled with flowing lines, movement, and rhythm. This conveys a life force present not only in plants, but also in stones—objects often considered inanimate, yet carrying the imprint of time, memory, and consciousness. Even the cactus spines subtly transform into star-like forms upon closer inspection, a nod to our celestial origins and the interconnectedness of all things Arizona Dreaming reflects my belief that certain places carry their own frequency, and that when we slow down enough, they meet us there. This piece is an invitation to enter that stillness and feel what can’t be explained."
