  • The Oaks That Watch Over Us

Pastel on Sanded Paper by Laura Towne (16in. x 13in.)
"Florida oak trees can live for hundreds of years. When we build our houses and cities amongst them, they lend a sense of history, stability, and comfort. These trees are overflowing with character. It often feels that they are watching over us, helping to ground us, and guide us. This pastel was created to highlight the majesty and vibrance of thees beautiful trees that surround all of us here in Saint Augustine."

  • Sweet Sirenia

    Acrylic by Melanie Roberge (31in. x 25in.)
"This painting reflects a special moment I experienced at Gilchrist Springs when a manatee swam up to me, curious and gentle. He reached out his flipper as if for a handshake, and we shared a quiet connection that felt profound. I created this piece to capture that feeling of connection with nature. My hope is to remind viewers of the quiet, powerful encounters we can have with the world around us and the importance of respecting and preserving these moments."

  • Guana Gull

Acrylic on Canvas by Aren Weaver (16in. x 20in.)
"At the beach in Guana Reserve, the seagull isn't the main attraction. The seagull has an awarenesses of being common. Some would assume he was a beggar; a pestering nuisance. The seagull beckons for attention, asking you to look beyond his ordinary presence, and focus on the swirling excitement beyond your tired gaze. But you don't. You're just bothered that he's arrived. Nothing in nature is ordinary."

  • Early Light, Salt Run

oil on canvas by Mary Ann Rosenthal (20in. x 10in.)
"After doing a plein air study in Salt Run, I returned on another occasion to catch the earlier morning light. The sky was glowing yellow and the boats and distant shore still ghostly dark in silhouette. I photographed the same two resting boats to use as reference and completed this in the studio. I am so fortunate to witness the world waking up to another light infused Florida morning."
