WHY THE ST. AUGUSTINE ART ASSOCIATION
One of the most difficult financial decisions to make is what charitable organization(s) you will support, both now and through your legacy. Important questions you may ask are: How does the organization use donations to fulfill its mission? What impact does the organization have on its community? How will I be recognized as a donor and how will my legacy benefit from my donation?
At the core of the St. Augustine Art Association, our mission is to support ALL artists and art appreciators — young and old, beginners and professionals, locals and visitors, the sighted and the blind, 2D and 3D artist. We believe that artists’ successes should be nurtured, supported and celebrated. Each creation offers a new opportunity to the viewer, and a new experience. With your financial generosity, the St. Augustine Art Association can make these opportunities a living reality.
The St. Augustine Art Association recognizes its donors through customizable opportunities including naming opportunities (funds, programs, awards, etc.), plaques, honorary memberships and benefits, website links and more. WHERE TO GIVE to support the ongoing legacy of the St. Augustine Art Association:
Through the Art of Giving, you can join your legacy to ours by providing support that will ensure the continuation of this vibrant, living cultural arts organization. Donations can be made for:
- General Fund: Encompassing all of the operations of the St. Augustine Art Association.
- Educational Funds: Providing opportunities for classes and workshops for artists of all ages and backgrounds.
- Building Fund: Provides maintenance and improvements to ensure the gallery stays in excellent and state-of-the-art condition for exhibits and programs.
- Permanent Collection Fund: Provides maintenance and preservation of our Permanent Collection, consisting primarily of important St. Augustine Art. These works are vital to our community in preserving our rich artistic history.

No Gift is Too Small to Make a Difference!
Gifts in Honor / Memory Of
Honor a lost loved one, recognize someone special, or commemorate a milestone by making a special gift in their name. Your honoree or their next of kin will be notified of your gift, but will not receive other unsolicited communication from the Art Association. The amount of your donation will not be revealed to the recipient in the notification letter unless requested to do so.
IRA Charitable Rollover
The IRA Charitable Rollover allows individuals 70½ or older to make a tax-free rollover using funds transferred directly from their IRA. This means you can donate up to $100,000 annually from your IRA without having to count the distribution as taxable income–and it counts towards your required minimum distribution. Consult your plan administrator and/or tax advisor for more details.
Planned Giving
A planned gift is one which is legally provided for during the donor’s lifetime but whose principle benefits do not accrue to the Art Association until some future date. Examples of Planned Giving include:
Bequests
Include a bequest in your will or trust, designate the Art Association as a beneficiary in gifts of your life insurance policies, deferred annuity contracts, IRAs, defined benefit plans, 401(k) plans, or other qualified plans.
Gifts of Real Estate
Your personal residence, or other real estate property outright or with life use and enjoyment retained by you.
Gifts of your publicly traded securities (stocks, bonds, etc.) & mutual funds
Gifts of cash and / other assets with income reserved for your life and/or other beneficiary
These types of gifts can take the form of a charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust and charitable lead trust.

The St. Augustine Art Association strongly encourages all donors to discuss proposed gifts with their legal and financial advisors. Prospective donors shall be advised to seek their own counsel in matters related to charitable giving, tax, and estate planning.
