Alchemy of an Artist
Workshop with An Marshall
Monday, March 24 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
at the St. Augustine Art Association
Do you know who you are as an Artist?
Dive into the world of the “Artist Archetype” – the timeless pattern of creative behavior that has shaped human expression throughout history. Led by Life Journey Artist, An Marshall, this one-day workshop will help you uncover the strengths and blind spots of the artist within you, and examine how this embedded blueprint shapes your personal creative journey.
Through guided introspection, this workshop will take a look at your artistic process, the work you create, and the person you are as an artist in the world.
Then, using mixed media collage techniques, A Marshall will lead you in creating a visual representation of your Archetype or unique “Artist” identity. You’ll learn to express and explore the essence of who you are in a tangible, meaningful way!
All supplies are included in this workshop.
About the Instructor
An Marshall is an award-winning Life Journey Artist, who has been seeking meaning in the creative process for decades. Her medium is the rich world of color, texture, fabric, thread, collage, and mixed media. She has developed a style that incorporates layers of mixed media, painting, dying, embellishment, fabric construction and more.
An developed “Life Quilt”, a contemplative process to convey an individual’s life events with meaning and significance from birth to death using her creative, mixed media approach. She has taught this class and several others, guiding individuals through a process of tapping into the reservoir of their unconsciousness to bring forth insight, and shine light on their fuller self.
Although her work has been largely influenced by a deep sense of the divine and mystery, current works are focusing on Archetypes – that rich language of symbols and story woven across centuries and continents that is embedded in each of us.
