Artists and art lovers, join the St. Augustine Art Association for Summoning Scenes, a plein air nocturne event celebrating the magic and mystery of St. Augustine after dark.

On October 29th from 5 to 9 PM, artists will gather as the sun sets and the city transforms under the evening sky. Capture the glow of historic streets, dramatic architecture, illuminated landmarks, and the unique atmosphere of St. Augustine at night through the time-honored tradition of painting en plein air (outdoors).

Come watch artists paint on location throughout the city, experience St. Augustine in a whole new light, and visit the St. Augustine Art Association gallery to view works in progress, explore finished paintings, and purchase original artwork inspired by the evening.

This is a free event, but artists do need to sign up and all surfaces must be stamped before painting.

Works completed during this event are eligible for Historic Impressions on a Modern Canvas (Nov. 19, 2026 – Feb. 8, 2027) at the St. Johns County Administrative Rotunda.
