“This large-scale mixed media work, titled “Stargazer Lily Pond”, is a vibrant exploration of texture and movement. At its heart, a monumental Stargazer Lily is rendered in rich, impasto oil paints, its bold white petals and deep crimson speckles commanding the viewer’s attention. The composition transitions into a whimsical, layered background where the boundary between air and water blurs. Hand torn paper and fabric collages are integrated into the oil medium, creating a tactile koi fish that appear to glide through a dreamlike garden.
The juxtaposition of the heavy oil texture with the delicate patterns of the fabric elements lends the piece a playful yet sophisticated depth, inviting the viewer to “stop and smell the flowers” within this reimagined aquatic sanctuary.”
