ELIZABETH MOWRY Pastel Painting Workshop
January 17-19, 2014
Internationally acclaimed pastel artist Elizabeth Mowry will be holding an intensive three-day studio workshop that will focus on creating evocative landscape compositions using natural landscape components.
Techniques to create soft edges, "glazing" with pastels and the use of graceful line will also be explored. Using personal studies and original photos as reference, students will be encouraged to objectively evaluate possible adjustments that might transform "what was there" into a single strong idea for the painting. In addition, participants will learn how to alter a scene using a different palette to suggest another season or time of day. Demonstrations, individual instruction, and daily sharing with constructive feedback will offer valuable aesthetic and technical solutions for both emerging and experienced artists.
Fee: $495 ($475/StAAA members) includes lunch Fri & Sat. Limited Space Available. Supply list provided upon registration.
